Mostly dry weather to continue during weekend and next week

The weekend and coming week will continue to see mostly dry weather as high pressure dominates, Met Éireann has said.

Today (Friday, April 24) will be dry in most areas with good sunshine. It will become cloudier over Munster during the afternoon and some showers will develop there through the evening, a few possibly heavy.

Highest temperatures generally will be 14° to 20°C, warmest in the west, with mostly light to moderate south-easterly winds.

Tonight, showers over Munster will extend northwards over Connacht and parts of the midlands, a few possibly heavy.

It will continue dry over much of Leinster and Ulster, where it will be coldest, with temperatures falling to between 1° and 4°. It will be milder in the west and south-west, with lows of 5° to 9°.

Weekend

Tomorrow morning (Saturday, April 25), a few showers will move up over Leinster and Ulster. They will die out by noon. Overall, it will be mainly dry, with a fair amount of cloud and some sunny spells.

Highest temperatures will be 13° to 16° over the western half of the country and between 17° and 21° further east with light variable breezes.

Tomorrow night will be mainly dry with a mix of cloud and clear spells. There may be a few showers in Ulster. Lowest temperatures will be 5° to 9° with light, variable breezes.

Sunday (April 26) will be mainly dry with a fair amount of cloud and some sunny spells. A few showers may develop in Leinster and Ulster during the afternoon and evening.

Highest temperatures on Sunday will be 14° to 18°, with light variable breezes, warmest in the east.

Sunday night will be dry with some clear spells, while lowest temperatures will be 5° to 9°.

Next week

Monday (April 27) will be dry with bright or sunny spells. Highest temperatures will be 14° to 18° with light to moderate northerly breezes, coolest in the north and warmest in the south.

Tuesday (April 28) will be dry with sunny spells. Highest temperatures should be 12° to 18° with moderate north-easterly winds. It will be coolest in the east and warmest in the west and southwest.

Wednesday will continue dry with sunny spells and moderate easterly winds. Highest temperatures will be 12° to 18°, coolest in the east and warmest in the west.

According to Met Éireann, Thursday (April 29) and Friday (April 30) will continue dry with sunny spells, with temperatures in the mid to high teens, and light winds.
