The weather is expected to be unsettled and cooler with rain or showers each day this week, along with breezy conditions at times.
Met Éireann said there will be scattered showers this morning and early afternoon (Tuesday, June 2), heavy at times especially in eastern areas.
Through the late afternoon and evening the showers will become more isolated and lighter.
There will be occasional sunny breaks today, the best of these likely in the east and south.
There will be highest temperatures of 14° to 19° with a moderate westerly breeze.
After a dry start with some clear spells, it will become cloudy and wet tonight as rain extends from the south-west, Met Éireann said.
There will be lowest temperatures of 9° to 12° with a moderate to fresh south to south-west breeze.
Rain will clear north-eastwards tomorrow morning (Wednesday) and will be followed by frequent showers through the rest of the day.
Some of the showers will be heavy and thunderstorms are possible.
Wednesday night will be cloudy and unsettled with showers or longer spells of rain.
There will be light to moderate south to south-west winds at first, but becoming breezier overnight as moderate to fresh westerly winds develop.
Thursday will be cool and blustery with widespread showers, merging into longer spells of rain at times.
The showers will become less frequent later in the day and some sunny spells will develop.
There will be highest temperatures of 12° to 16° with fresh to strong and gusty westerly winds.Thursday night will bring clear spells and scattered showers, mainly over the western half of the country. It will be dry with sunny spells for most on Friday morning, however showers will affect western areas.
These showers will extend eastwards through the day.
There will be highest temperatures of 13° to 15° with light to moderate south-westerly winds.Showers will clear from most areas early on Friday night, however rain will possibly move into southern areas overnight.
There will be lowest temperatures of 7° to 10° with light to moderate south to south-east winds.Met Éireann said there is uncertainty in the forecast for the weekend, but rain and showers are likely at times and daytime temperatures will continue in the mid to high teens at best.
