A vintage tractor run will be part of Timahoe Heritage Festival in Co. Laois this weekend.
The tractor run, which will take place on Sunday (May 31) at 1:00p.m, is in memory of local vintage icons, Billy McDonald, Tom Duff and Patsy Buggy.
Funds raised will go to the roof repair of St. Micheal's Church, Timahoe.
The heritage festival will feature battles; workshops; monks; armoured combat; heritage displays; vintage demonstrations; music and living history in the heart of Timahoe.
Today (Saturday, May 30) at 10.00a.m, registration will open for the Timahoe 5k heritage run which takes place at 11.00a.m.
From 12:00p.m on both days, there will be a Viking village; an arts and craft fair; family amusements; and a tablet weaving workshop, with booking required for the Viking village.
School of Irish Archaeology workshops will also run daily from 12:00-3.30pm, which will include the 'big dig'; Viking coin striking; and Viking bead making.
The workshops are free for children but booking is required.
Other events daily include Viking battles and 'kids versus Vikings' at the round tower and heritage centre at 1.00pm and 3.00pm.
There will also be will full contact armoured combat waged at the round tower and heritage centre at 2:00p.m and 4:00p.m.
Tomorrow (Sunday, May 31), the programme includes the Viking village; an arts and craft fair; family amusements; Eoin Reardon woodworking demonstrations, and a tablet weaving workshop, again with booking needed for the Viking village.
Vintage steam threshing will take place on the village green at 2:00p.m and 4:00p.m.
A dog show commences at 2.30pm at the round tower and heritage centre.
At 3:00p.m, a talk on 'Lanz tractors and Timahoe: a unique connection' will be hosted by the Irish Vintage Engine and Tractor Association.
Live music will be provided by Just Alice at 3:45p.m.
