Western Brand is recalling batches of its Sage & Onion Cook in Bag Whole Chicken due to the possible presence of salmonella.
The Food Safety Authority of Ireland (FSAI) in the recall notice said that retailers are requested to remove the implicated batches from sale and display recall notices at point-of-sale.
The products being recalled were for sale in Aldi and Tesco.
Consumers are advised not to eat the implicated batches.
Details of the recalled batches are as follows:

The FSAI said that people infected with salmonella typically develop symptoms between 12 and 36 hours after infection, but this can range between six and 72 hours.
The most common symptom is diarrhoea, which can sometimes be bloody.
Other symptoms may include fever, headache and abdominal cramps.
The illness usually lasts four to seven days.
Diarrhoea can occasionally be severe enough to require hospital admission.
The elderly, infants, and those with impaired immune systems are more likely to have a severe illness, the FSAI said.
Last month, the FSAI recalled Pettitt's Cook at Home Basil & Pesto Chicken Fillets due to the presence of salmonella.
Although the implicated batch is past its use by date, the product is suitable for home freezing.
Consumers are advised to check their freezers for the implicated batch and recall notices will also be displayed at point-of-sale.
The FSAI is advising consumers not to eat the implicated batch, which is the 380g pack with a use by date of 30/03/2026.
