Farmers in the East Limerick and North Cork region are being invited to a talk aiming to help them plan for the future of their farm.
Ballyhoura Development, through its Farm Forward European Innovation Partnership (EIP) Programme, is set to host its second talk of 2026.
The event, entitled 'Empower Your Farm - Secure Your Future', will take place on Wednesday, April 22 at the Deebert House Hotel, Kilmallock, Co. Limerick.
This morning session is open to full-time and part-time farmers in the Ballyhoura region, as well as those considering collaborative arrangements with family members or neighbouring farmers.
The local development company said the event will provide practical guidance to support better decision-making around farm structures, financial planning, and long-term sustainability.
The session, running from 11:00a.m to 1:00p.m, will explore collaborative farming models, including partnerships, share farming, contract rearing and more, along with practical tax planning for farmers.
Among the guest speakers will be Joseph Collins, agricultural adviser with FDC Group, and Tim Ryan, partner and tax specialist with ifac.
While admission is free, advance booking through the Ballyhoura Development website is essential as places are limited.
Those wishing to attend can also contact Carrie O’Donoghue, Ballyhoura Development farm succession and generational renewal coach.
The Farm Forward Project is co-funded by the European Commission and the Irish government under the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) Strategic Plan 2023-2027.
The programme supports farmers in adopting innovative approaches to strengthen sustainability, improve succession planning, and build long-term resilience.
