All roads led to Brosna in Co. Kerry over the weekend as the Irish Holstein Friesian Association (IHFA) held its annual stock judging event.
The event took place on the Curtins' family farm, who operate the highly acclaimed Greenlawn herd.
The Greenlawn herd, which was crowned the Champion '80 cow and less' herd in the 2025 IHFA National Herds Competition, operate a relatively unorthodox system, selling off both first and second lactation cows each spring at the annual Greenlawn sale.
The familiarity and success of the herd in the pedigree industry made it a fitting location for the stock judging event to take place.
The Kerry Holstein Friesian breeders club said: "With such a high-quality groups of cows and heifers, the judges had their work cut out for them."
Despite the tough competition, the judges still had to crown a champion in each class.
The list of winners is as follows;
Under 12

12-17 year-olds

18-26 year-olds

Seniors

The Kerry Holstein Friesian breeders club thanked the judges of the day, Michael Taaffe and Pat Frawley.
The group also expressed thanks to the event sponsors Kinisla and to the Curtin family for hosting the event.
The majority of these competitors will now be gearing up for the National Stock Judging Competition in July, which will be held on the National IHFA open day.
