Why Excelerate TMR is the only early-nutrition solution for your calves

Excelerate TMR is the latest product to be introduced to the market from AUCTUS.

Excelerate TMR is a total mixed ration for calves, formulated to maximise potential growth levels, stimulate and advance rumen development from a very young age.

Excelerate TMR is a 72% concentrate and 28% fibre combination.

The ration element is formulated with flaked maize and with soya, barley, wheat, beet pulp, sunflower seed meal, sugar cane molasses, rape seed meal and linseed all compressed into pellets.

The fibre element consists of lucerne (alfalfa) and chopped straw.

The fibre proportion is cut to between 1-2cm chop length to increase calf intakes.

Auctus has included a very strong vitamin and trace element package of three vitamins and eight trace elements.

This has been done to strengthen the immune system of the animals.

Biotin has also been included to maximise gut health, by promoting the correct microflora populations within the rumen and increasing feed efficiency.

The product is blended together to provide a very palatable feed for calves, which maximises the intakes of Excelerate TMR.

By doing so, the lucerne and straw combination gives the necessary scratch factor in the rumen to increase the production of primary enzymes to breakdown the feed.

This also stimulates the development of the papillae, in order to absorb the nutrients into the blood stream.

The development of the rumen in a newborn calf is like a snowball rolling down a snowy hill, which increases in size on the way down.

Likewise, once the process starts in the rumen of producing enzymes and bacteria to breakdown the TMR, the more enzymes are produced and then more feed can be consumed and so on.

The treat of Summer Scour Syndrome is greatly reduced, with greater rumen development prior to weaning and being let out to grass.

Excelerate TMR can be fed from four days-of-age onwards but also can be introduced at any stage of the rearing period.

Naturally, the earlier it is introduced, the better the intakes become within the first 12 weeks of life.

It should be introduced gradually and calves must have access to fresh water.

The feed is designed to be placed in a trough, fed ad-lib and consumed along-side milk replacer like Champion or whole milk.

The product is packaged in 20kg heat-sealed bales, with 60 bales per pallet.

Auctus have been formulating and trialling the product for two years, and the results from calves which were fed Excelerate TMR last year can be seen in the above video.

Liveweight gain, health and coat condition are very good and yearlings are well ahead of target weight.

The first six months of an animal's life is the most important in terms of laying down the footprint of the genetic potential and setting daily live weight gain.

Excelerate TMR is the first step in increasing rumen development during this critical early stage of the calf’s life.

Mycotoxin build up or the risk of secondary fermentation does not occur due to the heat treatment process of the fibre ingredients.

The bale is tightly compressed which keeps the product fresh.
