The Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine (DAFM) has issued an update on the various scheme payments made to farmers this week.
The data shows that €6.42 million was paid to farmers under the Agri-Climate Rural Environment Scheme (ACRES), bringing the total amount issued under the scheme to €783.48 million.
On Monday (April 20), Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine Martin Heydon announced that balancing payments in respect of 2025 had started to issue to farmers participating in ACRES.
The balancing payments total around €37 million and are being paid to 47,000 ACRES participants.
A further €1 million was issued this week under the 2025 Basic Income Support for Sustainability (BISS) and Complimentary Redistributive Income Support for Sustainability (CRISS).
This brings the total paid out under these measures to €843.4 million to 118,676 farmers.
The overall figure includes the 2025 Complementary Income Support for Young Farmers of €37.9 million and the 2025 National Reserve of €3 million.
There was an additional €49,287 paid out for the 2025 Eco-Scheme, meaning that over €305 million has now been issued to 118,332 farmers under the scheme.
Just €8,800 was paid this week under the Targeted Agricultural Modernisation Schemes (TAMS 3). To date, nearly €153 million has been paid to farmers under the schemes.
The department also paid €75,749 this week under the 2025 Areas of Natural Constraint (ANC) and Areas of Specific Constraint (ASC).
Almost €2.5 million was issued to farmers in the 2025 Sheep Improvement Scheme, while €26,000 was issued through the 2025 National Sheep Welfare Scheme.
A further €264,000 was paid out to farmers participating in the Organic Farming Scheme (OFS).
€6,435 was issued for the Red Clover Scheme, along with €3,258 under the Multi Species Sward (MSS) Scheme.
