In its latest farming commentary, Met Éireann said that rainfall amounts over the coming week are expected to be below average across the country, with just between 1mm and 15mm forecast.
It will feel cooler with mean air temperatures falling to between 9° and 11°, which is one or two degrees below average. Soil temperatures will decrease, but remain above normal values.
Due to those cooler temperatures and light winds, drying conditions will likely only be moderate.
Met Éireann said there will be good opportunities for spraying over the coming days. However, opportunities will reduce later in the week as conditions become more mixed.
Soil moisture deficits are expected to increase across all soils this week, with continued improvement in trafficability. Just poorly drained soils near southern coasts will stay close to saturation.
