Join the Bord Bia Farmer Forum and have your say

Bord Bia is inviting applications from farmers and growers across Ireland to become part of a new and important initiative: the Bord Bia Farmer Forum.

The Farmer Forum aims to give farmers, and growers a stronger voice in Bord Bia work by creating two-way engagement with scheme members.

This is your opportunity to take part in open dialogue, share constructive feedback, and help shape the work that supports Irish farming and the wider agri-food sector.

What is the Farmer Forum?

The Farmer Forum will be an assembly of approximately 100 Irish farmers and growers who will be supported by a committee of 12-18 members.

The committee will develop the agenda for each session and consolidate and agree actions arising.

What will the forum discuss?

Forum discussions will focus on areas central to Bord Bia’s work including Quality Assurance and Origin Green, the audit experience, customer requirements, and promotional activity.

Who can join?

The Farmer Forum is open to all farmers and growers who are actively farming on a Bord Bia Quality Assured farm.

Bord Bia is committed to creating a Forum that reflects the diversity of Irish agriculture. This means ensuring representation across:

  • Enterprise types, including beef, dairy, sheep, tillage, pig, poultry, egg, and horticulture;
  • All regions and counties in the Republic of Ireland;
  • A wide range of farmer profiles, including different ages, male/female, and farm sizes.

This diversity is essential to ensuring that discussions are balanced, inclusive, and representative of the sector as a whole.

How to apply

Farmers and growers interested in joining the Farmer Forum are invited to complete a short application form.

The deadline for applications is May 20, so early submission is encouraged.
