What is in its 35th year but still promises yet more top-class livestock competitions and family entertainment all on one site this August?
The answer is the 2026 Tullamore Show and FBD National Livestock Show, which will take place on August 9.
Details of the show have been officially launched and this year there will be a strong emphasis on generational renewal within Irish agriculture.
The launch of the show took place on the Halloway family and their herd known as the Gageboro Herefords.
Hugh Holloway started the Gageboro Hereford herd back in 1927, then it was developed further by John Holloway. Today, the herd is proudly carried forward by Lisa, her husband Niall Daly, and the next generation – Cillian, Alannah and Conall.
At the launch, Chelsey Cox McDonald, secretary, Tullamore Show, said: “We are delighted to celebrate 35 years of the Tullamore Show and FBD National Livestock Show.
“As we look ahead to August, we are especially excited to highlight a strong focus on generation renewal and future proofing our farming industry and challenges that lie ahead.”
FBD’s national head of branch strategy, Emer O’Byrne said: “We have a long-standing relationship with this event that goes right back to its inception 35 years ago.
“It is always a huge highlight in our annual calendar."
Lisa Daly of Gageboro Herefords also shared some fond memories of the magic she experienced at previous shows.
She said: “Show days have always been special to us.
“It started with my grandad going with my father to the RDS, where they enjoyed meeting other breeders and seeing the quality of stock each year.
“It’s also great for the next generation, to enjoy these events and take the winning with a smile and losing with a smile.”
The Tullamore Show and FBD National Livestock Show returns to the Butterfield Estate on Sunday, August 9, 2026.
