Revenue refunded over 27,000 "VAT 58 refund claims" totaling €66 million to flat-rate farmers last year according to latest figures.
New guidance has been published by Revenue on the application of the VAT Refund Order for flat-rate farmers.
The government has confirmed that the flat-rate compensation measure for farmers will decrease from 5% to 4.8% from January 1, 2024.
As part of Budget 2023, unveiled today, flat-rate farmers will see their compensation percentage decrease from 5.5% to 5% from January 1.
