Farm manager

Clifford Farm in Co. Tipperary is seeking an experienced and driven farm manager to manage the day-to-day operations of a 140-cow dairy farm in the Nenagh area.

The role requires someone with leadership skills and the ability to maintain high standards and efficiency.

Key responsibilities include ensuring all livestock are cared for to the highest standard, including feeding, health monitoring, veterinary treatment and lameness management; taking full responsibility for grassland management and utilisation; and maintaining a consistent, high-standard milking routine.

Candidates should have previous experience in a similar role, and should be capable of assuming full responsibility.

Farm assistant in New Zealand

A farm business in Invercargill, Southland, New Zealand, is looking for one person for a two to three month placement on its farms over the busy period of August and September calving.

The business runs two 700-cow farms.

Experience in dairy would be needed, particularly in milking cows; calving cows; identifying and treating stock and lame cows if needed; keeping and maintaining records; and weed control.

Candidates should have the ability to drive two- and four-wheeled bikes, and should be able to take direction when required.

Experience in tractor driving and mowing would also be preferred.

Operations supervisor

Shipping agency Suir Shipping is recruiting for an operations supervisor to oversee and drive the day-to-day performance of busy stevedoring (loading and unloading vessels) and warehousing operations within an Irish maritime and logistics environment.

A hands-on operations professional is being sought to take responsibility for delivering safe, efficient and high-quality cargo handling and storage services.

The successful candidate will play a key leadership role within the operations team, ensuring that all activities are delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with customer expectations and operational targets.

Key responsibilities, among others, will be taking full responsibility for the daily planning, coordination and execution of stevedoring and warehousing operations; and leading and managing operational teams on shift, ensuring appropriate allocation of resources and workloads.

Hatchery manager

Silver Hill Duck is seeking a hatchery manager to work at its plant on Co. Monaghan.

The job will involve organising daily work schedules and managing a team; managing daily deliveries, egg inventory, incubation, transfer and equipment; managing department budgets; and managing and driving performance to achieve high-quality day-old ducklings.

Requirements include, among others, previous hatchery experience, which is essential; and ideally a degree in poultry, animal science or another related field; as well as previous management experience.

Production operatives

Lakeland Dairies is looking for production operatives at three of its plants; at Bailieborough, Killeshandra and Lough Egish.

The role will involve operating plant equipment safely and efficiently; and ensuring production targets, quality standards, and hygiene requirements are met.

Key responsibilities will include operating and monitoring plant equipment; completing quality checks and maintaining accurate records; and taking samples for testing and ensuring correct ingredient additions.

Experience in manufacturing or food production is preferred, as is attention to detail and ability to follow procedures.

Service technician

Alfco Engineering, a farm services business in Meath, is looking to hire a service technician to join its team.

The role will involve the assembly, servicing and commissioning of various types of equipment.

The ideal candidate should be able to work independently, use their own initiative, and be good with dealing with people.

An agricultural background would be an advantage.
