Met Éireann has issued a Status Yellow wind warning for the country.
The warning will be in place from midnight Wednesday (March 11) until 6:00p.m Thursday (March 12).
Strong and gusty south westerly winds can be expected, Met Éireann said.
Potential impacts include: difficult travelling conditions; debris or loose objects displaced; and some fallen branches or trees.

The warning is in place for counties Donegal, Galway and Mayo, from 6:00p.m Tuesday (March 10) to 5:00a.m Wednesday (March 11).
Met Éireann said these areas can expect strong and gusty south westerly winds, especially in coastal areas.

In its national forecast, Met Éireann said Tuesday would be generally cloudy with outbreaks of rain and drizzle.
It will become dry for most early on tonight as the rain clears eastwards.
Clear spells and scattered showers will follow from the west, mainly affecting Atlantic coastal counties with a chance of hail.
It will be dry and bright for most of tomorrow (Wednesday, March 11) with spells of sunshine, though scattered showers will continue mainly for Atlantic coastal counties.
Patchy cloud will develop through the afternoon with isolated showers extending further east.
During the week, low pressure will dominate with rain or showers each day.
A spell of wet and windy weather on Thursday will be followed by a transition to cooler air with wintry hazards possible.
