After a fairly dry day forecasted for tomorrow (Saturday, March 7), the weather will again turn more unsettled after that, with low pressure to dominate, according to Met Éireann.
Today (Friday, March 6) will see a cold start with widespread frost and ice leading to difficult travelling conditions.
It will be a sunny day overall with highest temperatures of 8° to 11°C in light to moderate south-west winds.
It will be dry tonight with clear skies at first. Patchy cloud will spread from the south and west towards morning.
Lowest temperatures will be -1° to +4°, though it will be milder for Atlantic coastal areas, in a light to moderate southerly breeze.
Tomorrow (Saturday, March 7) will be another largely dry day with spells of sunshine, though isolated light showers will drift up from the south. Highest temperatures will be 9° to 12° in light to moderate southerly winds, fresher on Atlantic coasts.
Tomorrow night will be a dry and clear night at first. Cloud will thicken from the south-east overnight, bringing a few patches of light rain and drizzle to southern and eastern coasts by morning.
Lowest temperatures will be -1° to +4° generally, though it will be milder in Atlantic coastal regions, in light to moderate south-east winds.
It will be a largely cloudy start on Sunday (March 8) with just a few sunny spells and the odd patch of light rain and drizzle in the south and east.
More persistent rain will develop across the western half of the country through the day. Highest temperatures will be 8° to 12° in moderate southerly winds.
Sunday night will be cloudy with outbreaks of rain and drizzle spreading eastwards across the country. Lowest temperatures will be 2° to 6° in a light westerly or variable breeze.
Monday (March 9) is set to see a dull and damp start, with patches of light rain and drizzle lingering. Sunny spells will develop through the afternoon as the rain and drizzle ease.
Highest temperatures are excepted to be 8° to 11° in a light west to north-west breeze.
Rather wet and blustery on Tuesday with outbreaks of rain and drizzle, turning heavier in the west and south-west later, in fresh south-west winds. Highest temperatures will be 9° to 12°.
According to Met Éireann, low pressure will remain dominant, bringing further wet and windy conditions at times for the latter half of next week.
