In the fourth part of Agriland Media’s new series, Farm Safe, Farm Well, we explore the dangers posed by working at heights on farms. According to the Health and Safety Authority (HSA), around 18% of all deaths in the agricultural sector are associated with falls or collapses. Eddie Downey, former IFA president, told Agriland about falling 12ft while working on his farm in Co. Meath in 2021. The Farm Safe Farm Well series, produced by Agriland Media in conjunction with AXA Insurance, is funded by the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine (DAFM).
