It is understood that the Baling Assistance Payment, which was put in place last year to support baling straw, will not be reinstated.
Payments totalling €1.9 million are currently being issued to farmers under the Baling Assistance Payment (BAP).
The Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine (DAFM) has released further information about the new scheme for baling straw this year.
