Stephen Crowley named as new CEO of Herdwatch

Stephen Crowley is set to become the new chief executive officer (CEO) at livestock management software company, Herdwatch.

The move was confirmed by the founder of the Co. Tipperary based company, Fabien Peyaud in a post today (Friday, February 20) on LinkedIn.

Peyaud, who has been the CEO of Herdwatch for nearly 15 years, said he is moving into a "founder and executive director role" at the company.

"This is a board-level position focused on long-term strategy, product vision and innovation - where I believe I can make the greatest impact as we enter our next phase of growth.

"I am not retiring or stepping away, and remain deeply committed to Herdwatch, just in a different capacity," he said.

Stephen Crowley joined the senior leadership team at Herdwatch last year.

"He has a proven track record of scaling software businesses, including as a key contributor to the growth of Flipdish.

"I am very confident Stephen is the right person to lead Herdwatch into the next phase and wish him the very best of luck," Peyaud said.

Peyaud added that "building Herdwatch and our team has been the privilege of my career".

According to Herdwatch, over 20,000 farmers use its software across Ireland, the UK and the US, as well as hundreds of veterinary professionals following the company's recent acquisitions and investments in Comtag and VetDrive.

The company won the Champion Award at the Enterprise Ireland Innovation Arena at the 2025 National Ploughing Championships.

The award came after the agri-tech company unveiled Herdi, which it described as the world’s first context-aware AI farm assistant aimed at livestock farmers.
