This week's sheep trade sees continued price positivity with rises in price offers for spring lambs, hoggets and cull ewes.
Farmers have told Agriland up to €10.00/kg has been paid for spring lambs up to 21kg carcass-weight but official quotes are currently at €9.80/kg.
Cull ewe quotes have jumped by up to 50c/kg since last Monday in some cases and hoggets have lifted by a further 30c/kg.
This week, Kepak is quoting €8.65/kg plus a 15c/kg Quality Assurance (QA) bonus for spring lambs, leaving €8.80/kg on offer up to 23kg carcass-weight.
This price offer is up 30c/kg since last Monday and 90c/kg in the past two weeks.
The Athleague, Co. Roscommon site is quoting €4.70-€4.80/kg for cull ewes, up 20c/kg since last Monday.
