Families looking for a home in rural areas are being sought for the third series of 'Help Me Buy a Home', on Virgin Media One.
Fronted by Liz O'Kane, buyer agent, with 'I'm Grand, Mam' hosts PJ Kirby and Kevin Twomey, 'Help Me Buy a Home' puts the power into the hands of househunters, offering frank assessments of the difficulties within the Irish housing market and practical solutions to overcome the challenges.
Suri Grennell, producer at Allkind Media, formerly Animo, said that they are looking for participants throughout the country who are at different stages of their home buying journey.
Those in rural areas are particularly welcome to apply.
Grennell said: "In the second series a couple - Avril and Barry - one of whom was a publican in Westport and one of whom was from rural Sligo, were looking to buy as close to Westport town as possible, but Liz had them galavanting around the county checking out some places with truly beautiful and peaceful rural landscapes to tempt them into a location where they could get a bit more bang for their buck.
"With property prices spiralling and the number of young homeowners drastically decreasing, the series addresses one of the most pressing issues facing Irish society today.
"Even since the broadcast of this second series last year, house prices have increased again."
Liz O'Kane is returning for the new series to share her expertise with all the frustrated and overwhelmed folks trying to buy a home.
"Liz is on a mission to simplify the whole home-buying journey, offering helpful advice from finding the perfect pad to handling those tricky surveys, solicitors' fees, and mountains of paperwork," Suri said.
"PJ and Kevin will also be returning with their own unique style of explaining to help viewers unpack the mysteries of all things house buying.
"Both PJ and Kevin represent those who feel locked out of the market process and they will be asking the burning questions people want answers to, and they won’t be holding back."
Whether potential participants are mortgage approved and ready to buy or still navigating the paperwork maze, Liz will help those taking part to explore new possibilities, from alternative locations to considering fixer-uppers or new builds.
‘Help Me Buy a Home' will also feature informative segments on government schemes and the practical steps involved in the home-buying process.
