The Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) has today (Monday, February 23) appealed for information regarding the theft of a quad in Co. Tyrone earlier this month.

PSNI outlined that the vehicle in question, which has been described as a "red Honda quad", is suspected to have been stolen sometime between Wednesday, February 11 and Sunday, February 15.

The quad was allegedly stolen from an outbuilding on the Clabby Road in Fivemiletown.

In a social media post, PSNI called for anyone with information to contact police by dialling 101 and quoting the reference number, CC2026021600286.

Property marking

This theft comes at a time when several property marking events have been organised by PSNI recently, with one already taking place in Donaghmore last Saturday (February 21).

The events are free of charge and serve as an opportunity for members of rural communities to have their property marked with an unique identification number, which can be traced back to the registered owners.

A further two property marking events are set to take place this week across Northern Ireland as farmers have been encouraged to bring along their trailers.

The Gillaroo Community Centre will play host for a marking event in Garrison, Co. Fermanagh, which is being held between 11:00a.m and 2:00p.m tomorrow (Tuesday, February 24).

Unlike other property marking events, farmers who plan on attending tomorrow's event do not need to book in advance.

Another trailer marking session will be held at the grounds of Saint Joseph's GAC at Crockmore Road in Craigbane, Co. Derry.

The date has been set for Saturday, February 28, between 9:00a.m and 3:00p.m, however attendees will have to book a slot in advance by calling 07827290985 or 07786990117.

PSNI officers will also be present throughout both property marking events to share advice on how to better protect farms and agri-business equipment from rural crime.
