Met Éireann has issued a Status Yellow weather warning for low temperatures and ice for the entire country.
The national forecaster said that temperatures will drop back to between -1 and -3°C generally on Friday night (February 13).
The low temperatures will bring a risk of sharp frost and icy conditions in all counties.
This may cause hazardous travel conditions on road and underfoot, along with potential travel disruption.
The warning will come into force at 9:00p.m on Friday and remain in place until 10:00a.m on Saturday (February 14).
According to Met Éireann's latest farming commentary, rainfall amounts will be well above average nationwide over the next seven days.
Rainfall totals are expected to be approximately two to four times higher than normal.
It will be colder in the coming week, especially from late Thursday until Sunday.
Mean air temperatures will decrease, falling to around normal to 2° below. Soil temperatures will decrease slightly also but will remain above normal.
Met Éireann said that drying conditions will be poor over the coming days.
While there will be brighter conditions on Friday and early Saturday, this drier weather will be accompanied by colder temperatures.
There may be some spraying opportunities on Friday and early Saturday with drier conditions and light winds. The showers and rain from Sunday will limit spraying opportunities.
Poorly drained soils are currently waterlogged while all well and moderately drained soils are saturated.
Over the coming week, Met Éireann said there will be no improvement to soil conditions and moderately drained soils will become waterlogged.
