Met Éireann issues further rain and wind warnings

Met Éireann has issued further weather warnings for this weekend.

A Status Yellow wind warning has been issued for counties Donegal, Galway, Mayo and Sligo.

Very strong and gusty south to south west winds can be expected.

Potential impacts include difficult travelling conditions, some fallen trees and branches, debris and loose objects displaced.

This warning is in place from midnight tonight until 2:00p.m tomorrow (Saturday, April 11).

Hail and thunder

Met Éireann has also issued a Status Yellow wind and rain warning for counties Cork and Kerry.

These two counties can expect very strong and gusty south westerly winds, along with squally heavy showers or longer spells of rain and a chance of hail and thunder.

Potential impacts include difficult travelling conditions, spot flooding, some fallen trees and branches, debris and loose objects displaced.

This warning is valid from 12:00p.m until 8:00p.m on Saturday.

Friday's weather

A Status Yellow wind warning is currently in place for five counties.

These counties are Donegal, Galway, Leitrim, Mayo and Sligo.

The warning came into effect at 12:00p.m today and remains in place until 9:00p.m tonight.

A Status Yellow warning for rain is also in place for counties Cork, Kerry and Waterford.

The rain warning came into effect at 9:00a.m this morning and remains in place for 12 hours, expiring at 9:00p.m tonight.
