The National Biodiversity Data Centre is seeking a manager to oversee the next phase of the All-Ireland Pollinator Plan Programme.
The All-Ireland Pollinator Plan was established in 2015 to tackle pollinator declines and is one of the first of its kind in Europe.
The voluntary framework brings together different sectors across the island, including agriculture, and aims to create a landscape where pollinators can survive and thrive.
The National Biodiversity Data Centre coordinates the implementation of the plan which has an island-wide steering group.
There have been two phases to date, and a third plan covering 2026-2030 is currently in development.
This new plan, include a module on farmland pollinators, will play a role in the delivery of the EU Nature Restoration Regulation in Ireland.
That regulation requires EU member states to halt the decline of pollinators by 2030.
The National Biodiversity Data Centre is inviting applications from suitably qualified applicants to apply for the programme manager role.
They will be responsible for coordinating implementation of the All-Ireland Pollinator Plan and will oversee a team of six project officers.
The manager will help in finalising and publishing the next plan and ensure its successful delivery.
Candidates must have a relevant post graduate qualification in a subject relevant to biodiversity or have a minimum of five years’ experience working in a relevant area.
They should have a proven track record in successfully managing a large project, along with a minimum of three years’ experience of managing a team.
The permanent position has a salary scale ranging from €55,000-€69,000.
Applications for the positions must be submitted by 5:00p.m on Friday, March 6, 2026.
