Gardaí have confirmed that a man has died in a fatal workplace incident on a farm in Co. Limerick.
Gardaí and emergency services responded to the incident which happened near Dromcolliher on Saturday afternoon (January 24).
A male in his 30s was pronounced deceased at the scene, gardaí said.
In a statement, a spokesperson for An Garda Síochána confirmed: "His body was removed to University Hospital Limerick for a post-mortem examination.
"A file will be prepared for the coroner."
This is the second death to happen on a farm in Co Limerick within a week.
On January 19, gardaí confirmed that a man aged in his 90s has died in an incident on farm near Askeaton.
Donal O’Connor, who was from north Kerry, had been tending to cattle at his farm at Morgan’s North, Barrigone when the fatal incident happened.
The Health and Safety Authority (HSA) confirmed to Agriland that it is "aware of the fatal incident and has launched an investigation". The authority added that "no further information is available at this time".
Provisional figures recently published by the HSA showed that there were 23 deaths in the agriculture sector in 2025.
This accounts for 40% of all work-related fatalities last year (58), from a sector employing approximately 4% of the workforce.
