'Unstoppable: Women driving progress behind the scenes in rural Ireland' will be the theme of the International Women's Day charity lunch to be hosted by Macra and the Agricultural Science Association (ASA).
The lunch will take place at Lyrath Estate, Kilkenny, on Thursday, March 5, and tickets are now on sale for the event.
Josephine O'Neill, Macra president said: "Women have always played an integral role in driving progress behind the scenes in rural Ireland.
"We look forward to shining a light on inspirational women and showcasing their achievements in Irish agriculture," she added.
Held in recognition of International Women’s Day on March 8, the event will bring together industry leaders, professionals and advocates to celebrate and recognise the contribution of women across agriculture and rural Ireland.
Emer O’Byrne, national head of branch strategy and sales performance at sponsors FBD, said that the event celebrates the "strength, resilience and momentum of women who are driving real progress across agriculture today".
"The ‘unstoppable’ theme strongly reflects what we see across the sector: women leading change, shaping the future, and making a lasting impact at every level.
"We value our long-standing partnerships with Macra and the ASA, and are delighted to continue our support of an event that offers an enjoyable opportunity to connect, share experiences, and consider the future of the industry together," O'Byrne said.
All proceeds from the lunch will go to Breast Cancer Ireland. Last year’s event raised almost €9,000 for the charity.
Doors open at 11:00am for registration. Participants will have the opportunity to meet and network ahead of the main event.
Lunch will be followed by a panel discussion. There will also be a raffle on the day.
