The Global Dairy Trade (GDT) index has recorded a slight decline in its latest trading event today (Tuesday, June 2).
The index was back by 0.6%, for an average price of €3,453/t, reversing the same percentage increase in the pervious event two weeks ago.
14,364t of product was sold at today's event, with 147 bidders participating.
97 winning bidders emerged across 16 bidding rounds, with the event lasting for two hours and 36 minutes.
In terms of individual product sub-indices, there were an increase in the butter index by 1.2%, for a price of €4,924/t.
Cheddar also increased, by 1.8%, for a price of €3,968/t.
Increases were also recorded for lactose (up 4.6%) butter milk powder (up to 3%) and anhydrous milk fat (up 5.3%).
Prices for these products sat at €1,381/t, €3,072/t and €5,726/t respectively.
Mozzarella, however, saw a decrease of 4.6%, for a price of €3,385/t, while skim milk powder decreased by 3% for a price of €2.969/t.
Whole milk powder also saw a decline at this latest GDT event, decreasing by 2.2% for a price of €3,182.
