Kerrygold has announced a promotional campaign that plans to bring the crisp sandwich from Irish kitchens to the streets of New York for St. Patrick's Day.
In New York city on March 17, New Yorkers will get the chance to try the "Kerrygold Crisp Sandwich" when they visit the Kerrygold sandwich pop up at Wildair, at 142 Orchard Street.
According to Neil Rogers, senior global brand manager for Kerrygold: "Born in the quiet heartland of Irish food culture, the iconic crisp sandwich has long been a locals only legend in Ireland - an afterhours hero and the chef's stolen moment snack.
"Seeing the intrigue and interest across social media over the last few months, Kerrygold is excited to let the rest of the world in on the secret this St. Patrick's Day."
Kerrygold, in collaboration with award-winning Irish actress and Stranger Things star Amybeth McNulty, launched the ‘Made the Irish Way’ global campaign, alongside the Kerrygold Crisp Sandwich, to spread the word about the Irish snack.
The campaign will run across the US, Ireland, Germany, the UK, South Africa, throughout this month.
Separately, Irish politicians will also be making the traditional pilgrimage to other countries on St. Patrick’s Weekend.
The Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine, Martin Heydon, is set to travel to San Francisco as part of the government's St. Patrick’s Day programme for 2026.
This year will also see the Taoiseach, Tánaiste, ministers and various government representatives travel to more than 50 countries.
The government has outlined that it wants Ireland's participation in St. Patrick's Day celebrations around the world to "place a stronger emphasis on trade and investment".
While Minister Heydon will head to the US, the Minister of State at the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine with special responsibility for forestry, farm safety and horticulture, Michael Healy-Rae, is off to Finland, Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania.
