A Status Yellow wind warning has been issued for the early hours of Friday morning (March 13).
Met Éireann has issued the warning for counties Clare, Kerry and Galway.
It will be in place from 2:00a.m until 6:00a.m.
Strong and gusty south west or west winds can be expected.Potential impacts include: difficult travelling conditions; debris or loose objects displaced; and wave overtopping.
A Status Yellow snow and ice warning is coming into effect tonight.
The national forecaster said the alert currently applies to counties: Cork; Donegal; Galway; Kerry; Leitrim; Limerick; Mayo; Sligo; Tipperary; Waterford and Wicklow.
The warning states that showers may fall as sleet or snow in these counties with some accumulations possible, mainly on high ground.
The freezing conditions will potentially lead to poor visibility and difficult travelling conditions.
The warning will come into effect from 9:00p.m tonight and remain in place until 9:00a.m tomorrow.
Tomorrow overall will be cold and breezy with bright or sunny spells and scattered showers, merging to longer spells of rain at times.
Some of the showers could be wintry at first but they will transition mostly to rain or hail through the morning.
Isolated thunderstorms are also possible.
Showers will gradually become less frequent early on Friday night, becoming largely confined to Atlantic coastal counties with clear spells developing for a time.
Saturday will start dry in the east with some sunshine, but cloud will continue to thicken from the west through the morning as patchy rain and drizzle spreads across the country during the afternoon.
Sunday will be a cool and breezy day with sunny spells and scattered blustery showers, some turning wintry later in the day with a chance of hail or sleet, mainly in the north.
