DAFM: €9m in TAMS 3 payments as backlog 'being processed'

The Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine (DAFM) issued €9 million in Targeted Agricultural Modernisation Schemes (TAMS 3) payments last week.

The department said that due to a delay in payments being processed, this figure is a combination of two pay runs.

"There is also a backlog in payments from 2025 currently being processed resulting in higher-than-normal pay runs for February 2026," DAFM added.

Up to February 20, the department had approved 41,149 TAMS 3 applications, 17,900 payment applications had been submitted and 14,315 payments were made.

TAMS 3 provides grants to farmers to build and/or improve a specified range of farm buildings and equipment on their holding.

The total payments made under TAMS 3 now stands at almost €130.3 million.

This figure includes the 2025 Complementary Income Support for Young Farmers of €34.5 million and the 2024 National Reserve of €2.8 million.
