Joe’s Farm - a family enterprise in Killeagh, east Co Cork - is set to welcome back visitors for an Easter trail as they diversify and work to educate people on farming.

For the second year, the Easter trail allows visitors to explore the farm on a set route and get the opportunity to meet the Easter bunny.

Visitors will receive a map where they can follow the trail and stamp their card at different locations to earn their Easter egg. Face painting will also be an option.

The Easter trail will run over four days; the weekend of March 28/29 as well as and Friday, April 3 and Saturday, April 4.

Joe’s Farm is run by Joe Burns and his wife, Sandra, with their three children.

The family diversified their vegetable farm in 2014. Their crisps are made from potatoes, carrots, parsnips and beetroot. They are seasoned with sea salt and are gluten-free.

Sandra said:“The Easter trail was so popular last year we decided to do it again this year.

"We were asked throughout the year so we have been planning to make it bigger and better this year. We have new photo opportunities along the trail.

"It's a delight to see so many coming to our farm to enjoy the great outdoors and learn about farming."

Sandra said they have done a lot on the farm and "now serve tasty hot food as well".

"We look forward to welcoming visitors soon," she added.

Joe’s Farm has a farm shop, a coffee station, and serves home-grown potatoes as freshly cooked chips on-site along with pizza, cakes, and Baldwin's farmhouse ice cream.

Those planning on going along to the Easter trail should dress appropriately for the weather. Dogs are not allowed on the farm.
