Cooked ham products recalled due to listeria concerns - FSAI
The Food Safety Authority of Ireland (FSAI) has issued a recall notice today (Tuesday, June 30) for certain batches of cooked ham products.
The authority said that the products are being recalled due to the possible presence of listeria monocytogenes.
The FSAI said that recall notices will be displayed at point-of-sale.
The FSAI advised consumers not to eat the implicated batches.
Retailers are also being requested to remove the implicated batches from sale and display recall notices at point-of-sale.
The implicated batches, sold under the Brady Family, Deluxe and Tesco Finest brands, are as follows:

According to the FSAI, symptoms of listeria monocytogenes infection can include mild flu-like symptoms, or gastrointestinal symptoms such as nausea, vomiting and diarrhoea.
"In rare cases, the infection can be more severe, causing serious complications.
"Some people are more vulnerable to Listeria monocytogenes infections, including pregnant women, babies, and people with weakened immune systems, including the elderly.
"The incubation period (time between initial infection and first symptoms appearing) is on average 3 weeks but can range between 3 and 70 days," the authority said.
Routine monitoring
In a statement, O'Brien Fine Foods provided "additional context" in relation to the "precautionary recall".
"As part of our routine food safety monitoring programme, listeria monocytogenes was detected in a single batch of one product.
"The affected batch was identified at source, quarantined, and did not enter the market.
"Listeria monocytogenes has not been detected in any other batches of this product," the statement outlined.
O'Brien Fine Foods said the products listed in the FSAI notice were produced in the same production area on the same day as the affected batch.
"Listeria monocytogenes has not at this time been detected in any of these products. Out of an abundance of caution, the decision has been taken to recall them as precautionary measure.
"The safety of our consumers and the quality of our products remain our highest priority.
"Consumers who have purchased any of the affected products should not consume them and should return them to the place of purchase for a full refund.
"Point-of-sale recall notices will be displayed in stores supplied with the affected products," the statement added.
O’Brien Fine Foods said that it continues to work closely with the relevant regulatory authorities.
"We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience caused and thank consumers for their understanding and cooperation," the company said.
