Bord Bia is currently seeking auditing and data processing services for a pilot Quality Assurance (QA) scheme for the tillage sector.
The Irish Food Board is currently developing a Combinable Crop Assurance Scheme, which will operate as a three year pilot programme.
To support in the delivery of this pilot scheme, Bord Bia’s Origin Green and Quality Assurance Division is seeking tenders from "suitably experienced and qualified service providers" for "external auditing and related administration services".
According to the tender documents, the Combinable Crop Assurance Scheme will form part of Bord Bia’s range of QA programmes.
The scheme will support the "independent certification for combinable crop producers supplying the Irish food, feed, and processing sectors".
Bord Bia said that it requires "contracted partners who can provide high-quality, timely, and consistent auditing and administrative support in line with Origin Green Quality Assurance requirements and procedures".
"The successful provider will work closely with Bord Bia to support the rollout, implementation, and operation of the three-year pilot," the document adds.
Bord Bia noted that this tender is aimed at inspection and certification bodies that have "experience and proven track record of service delivery with contracts of similar scale".
The selected service provider will conduct all audit‑related activities for the Combinable Crop Assurance Scheme.
They will provide a sufficient panel of trained auditors and conduct audits to Bord Bia’s requirements.
"Over the course of the three-year pilot programme, it is anticipated that approximately 600 growers will participate in the Combinable Crop Assurance Scheme.
"Each participating grower will be subject to an audit at a frequency of once every 18 months," the tender documents said.
The maximum potential spend over the term of this 36-month contract is €320,000, excluding VAT.
The closing date for the submission of tenders is 12:00p.m on April 13, 2026.
